The word "Kalista" comes from the Greek language, meaning the"most exquisite" or the "finest." The name was chosen in order to reflect our goal of providing the finest quality craftsmanship, as well as to accentuate Nashville's reputation as the "Athens of the South."

Kalista Granite and Marble is owned by Jennifer Rothwell. It was originally established by John Gordy in partnership with Countyline Granite in Cumberland, Virginia. Kalista's goal with every project large or small is to bring the enduring beauty of granite and marble to the homes and business of Nashville and surrounding areas.
