Lameter was founded in the 1960s when earth-moving machinery was utilised extensively to extract marble blocks from quarries in Carrara. Since then, bucket production design and development activities have evolved to meet user requirements.

 

In 1989, a change in management helped bolster the design and production of boulder moving equipment. 

The company also began specialising in the design and production of special “tailor-made” equipment for a wide range of applications, becoming a supplier for the main European construction firms and the most important dealers.

 

Lameter thus became one of the world’s leading manufacturers of quarry earth-moving machinery. Lameter received the ISO 9002 certification in 1997, an achievement that marked the beginning of a process of constant quality improvement.

 

Lameter became ISO 14001 certified in 2000 (environmental certification) while the entire manufacturing process, from design to shipment, was ISO 9001 certified in 2003.

 

In June 2004 the company moved from its historical site to the new production unit (inaugurated in 2000), increasing the number of products to meet the market’s constantly growing demand.

 

In 2007, foreign sales represented more than 40% of the company’s production output, and in recent years figures in this sector have continued to increase.
