Marmoles Tarragona & Canteras Ebro, is a third generation, family owed and operated business founded in Tarragona in 1963. In 1987, Marmoles Tarragona established a new state-of-the-art factory in Traiguera, Castellon. Marmoles Tarragona continues to pioneer the natural stone industry. Their own manufacturing facility has the ability to process and produce blocks from their respective quarries 20 km from the factory. The stones from our quarries of Ulldecona is known world wide as Cenia. This quarry is one of the largest Spanish limestone reserves at 220,000 m2 (2,400,00 sq. ft.). The top layers of Cenia limestone benches are divided into various shades of beige, gold, creme and taupe shades. Cenia limestone also exhibits a darker and more consistent bench of blue-grey layer. Marmoles Tarragona is the first company to successfully categorize each bench in alphabetical order at the source of the quarry. With continued investment in the latest machinery, Cenia can be manufactured with various finishes and specification to cater to the changing tastes of architects across the world. These strategies have aided the completion of many successful cut to size projects. The Cenia is an extremely versatile limestone and has successfully tested for 300 freeze thaw cycles. It is the preferred stone for public works paving in Northern Europe and other parts of the world where limestones have failed due to severe winter conditions. Cenia has been used extensively through out the world for exterior cladding and flooring in both the commercial and private sector. Today, Marmoles Tarrgona's efficient and knowledgeable team continues to provide superior limestone products. Not limited to Cenia, Marmoles Tarragona also has exclusive agreements with other quarries common to the region like the St. Jaume Red and Tower Black limestone and as a service to our client we can supply other Spanish marbles and limestones. |
