The history of this company dates back to the late 1800’s, to a small town in south of Rome, Italy. The original founder was Vittorio Scala, the great-grandfather of the company’s current President, Vittorio Scala (Jr). In Italy, the company was successful performing natural stone installation in various artistic patterns.
Today, Scala Tiles continues to focus primarily on high-end, artistic work with stone, granite, marble, limestone, ceramics and mosaics, carrying forward their talent and years of classic European experience in the installation industry.
Scala Tiles started in Canada in 1989, when Vittorio (Jr) immigrated to Toronto with his family to pursue their dream. With an initial crew of 2 people, the company has slowly grown to comprise of six crews of skilled installers. Sons Armando and Stefano have recently joined the family business and share the same passion and talent that continue the proud family tradition.
