Facilities and Production. Green lumber to finished cabinetry. Yorktowne is a fully integrated manufacturer of fine cabinetry. This means we start with green lumber and take it through to the finished product. We control all phases of the manufacturing process, ensuring the production of finely crafted, quality cabinets every step of the way. The process begins in our Dimension Mill in Mifflinburg, PA. At that location, green lumber with a moisture content of 80% is placed in a pre-dryer and kiln to be dried to the desired moisture content of 6%. The lumber goes through a series of rough dimensioning processes -- then proceeds to the molders, which cut random widths and lengths down to finer sizes. Finally, all face frames, doors and drawer components are produced with state-of-the-art woodworking machinery. Our plant in Red Lion, PA and our new plant in Danville, VA take over and concentrate on fine milling, assembly and finish operations. After all finishing processes are completed, the cabinets are carefully assembled, reviewed for quality assurance, cartoned and shipped....
