In London, the closing ceremony is well underway as the city bids farewell to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
The performance features more than 41-hundred performers, including 3,500 adult volunteers and 380 school children from the six east London Host Boroughs. Unlike the Opening Ceremony, where athletes stayed within their national teams, the closing ceremony brings them all together to symbolize many countries gathering as one nation.
"A Symphony of British Music’ is put on to celebrate music as one of Britain’s strongest cultural exports over the last 50 years. Lastly, there will be a handover to Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympic Games, and the Olympic Flame will be extinguished, officially ending the 30th Olympic Games.
