According to Quanzhou Customs’ data, Quanzhou exported 442 thousand tons of granite and granite products (hereinafter referred to as stone) in 2013, increased 9.7% year-on-year, covering 8.6% of provincial stone export in the same period. The value reached 320 million USD, increased 16.3% year-on-year. The overall stone export showed stable increasing. The main export category is tombstone in Quanzhou, and it mainly exports to Janpan, ASEAN and US. Among that, stone exported to Japan was 140 thousand tons, 73 thousand tons to ASEAN, and 51 thousand tons to US. Stone exported to ASEAN reached greatly rising, increased 2.2 times year-on-year.

Greatly rising share of export to ASEAN means that emerging market has great potential. Quanzhou Customs suggest stone enterprises taking more efforts to open markets which have large needs on consumption and infrastructure while there are low barriers to entry.
