Cai Shengli is 56 years old now, as his job is about stones nearly all his lifetime. One day, when he was watching the globe in the CCTV News, an idea knocked him, that is manufacturing a globe made of granite. He thought making a globe is significant, because a globe is symbolized the earth of flourishing life. 

Using granite material would meet many problems. Cai also met many problems such as technical problems. Through repeated experiments, Cai divided the globe to 288 pieces, made stainless steel wire as the meridians and parallel circles, and finally spliced granites together by dozens of process.

Cai spent 5 years for this 1.5 tons granite globe. He hopes to get people's recognition by his craft. Moreover, he has planned to make a three-dimensional globe.
