IAAF Walking Challenger kicks off in N China

The 2012 final race of IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) walking challenger, also named as China walking championship, kicked off this Thursday in Ejin Horo Banner, Ordos city of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Including Chen Ding, the London Olympic champion of men's 20km walking race, about 357 domestic players from more than 30 teams, took part in the event which also featured 27 foreign athletes.

Divided into five categories, runners competed respectively in races of 5km, 10km, 20km, 30km and 50km.
