About Us

Eden Memorials has been serving Manitoba since 1967. We started as a Tyndall Stone fabricator and evolved into a memorial company.
Over the years we have worked on many projects outside of cemetery memorials. For example, our company completed the Mahogany Granite signs of the Selkirk Settlers on the Chief Pequis Bridge. We have done many memorial bronze plaques for the Armed Forces. In 1995, we worked on the monument commemorating the 50th anniversary of the last air graduating class at the Yorkton, Saskatchewan airport. In addition, over the past number of years we have done paving stone markers for the Winnipeg Zoo, St. John's Ravenscourt School, the University of Manitoba, and in 1999 for the Winnipeg Goldeyes at their new baseball stadium.
On June 6, 1999 we participated in the dedication of a monument to commemorate the BCATP (British Commonwealth Air Training Plan). It memorialized the 12 areas in Manitoba used during World War II to train the men and women from the Commonwealth nations how to serve their countries in the air. This was a major undertaking, as it was comprised of a black granite monument 6 1/2 feet high in the shape of the Province of Manitoba, 8 rose granite benches, 4 rose granite planters and approximately 1600 rose granite paving stones. Each paving stone has the name of the participants, their home towns, and their birth and if necessary death years. We also supplied three bronze markers on a limestone base. The site is located on Air Force Way across the street from Air Command Headquarters.
We also supplied a "Back to Nature" granite cairn for the PPCLI (Princess Patricia's Light Infantry) at the Asper Jewish Community Campus. The cairn relates that this site was the original headquarters for the PPCLI. At the same campus, we had a bronze plaque fabricated illustrating the history of the Asper Campus.
The memorial business is extremely busy, and has undergone many changes in the past number of years. People are becoming more expressive and personal when they memorialize a loved one. People are now putting different "pictures" on the monuments such as lake fronts, sports scenes and their personal vocations.
We completed a memorial for a young lady that passed away from cancer, and, in addition to her face and sneakers etched onto the stone, we also etched her actual signature.
In December 1999 we moved into a new 6000 square foot facility inside the city with a 1000 square foot inside display.
Times change, and we at Eden Memorials are changing with them.
