SOLANCIS history started in the first decade of the 20th century with the opening up of one of its quarries at Vale da Louceira in the Candeeiros Mountains. Operations consisted of extracting the stone and converting it into sinks and washbasins on-site. The items of equipment used were wedges, levers and saws. In 1920, operations started to develop.
