In days when marble blocks were still carried on ox-drown carts (the 1920s), the Testi family owned two quarries in Sant?ˉAmbrogio di Valpolicella: one of Rosso Verona and the other of Bronzetto Verona. The famous marbles were quarried by the Testi family and sold to local and foreign Companies. After the War and after post-war reconstruction, (in the early 1970s), one of the sons, Claudio Testi, founded the Testi Fratelli partnership. He was joined by his brothers Gustavo and Riccardo ¨C at the time employed elswhere (one in Switzerland, and the other at a major local marble firm) ¨C each contributing new experience and professional skills to those already acquired at the family quarry by then no more in production.
