Brazilian Architecture and Construction Fashion Week strengthens itself as one of the most complete and important event of the sector
The major covering event in Latin America takes place annually in São Paulo, Brazil, bringing together 40,000 people from 65 countries. Besides launching the worldwide trends of the sector, REVESTIR welcomes international icons of the contemporary architecture in an International Forum of Architecture and Construction specially aimed at architects, interior designers, engineers, and retailers.
As an authentic Brazilian Architecture and Construction Fashion Week, REVESTIR launches, at first hand, the most seducing, modern and practical covering solutions for home, commercial or public projects.
The event gathers more than 200 exhibitors who bring novelties in ceramic, wood laminates, glass products, ornamental stones, and cement floorings, rude wood and wire floors. The fair takes place in São Paulo (Brazil’s major business center), and it sets forth trends in colors, textures, sizes and technologies.
Sponsored by the Brazilian Association of Ceramic Tile Manufacturers - ANFACER –, REVESTIR 7th edition has its success proved by the figures. The 2008 edition received almost 40,000 visitors from 65 countries an increase of 27% comparing to 2007. The public estimated for the 2009 edition is roughly 47,000 visitors and it will take place from March 24th to 27th.
According to Mr. Antonio Carlos Kieling, president of REVESTIR and CEO of ANFACER, “the great importance of the fair was, undoubtedly, the possibility to evidence the fantastic amount of business deals in the event, consolidating REVESTIR talent as a business-oriented event”.
Parallel to REVESTIR, and as part of the Exhibition, it was also held the International Forum of Architecture and Construction, with the presence of many widely known professionals. The 2008 edition had the presence of Ma Yansong (Chinese architect who projected the “Absolute Towers” – a Marilyn Monroe curvy-inspired building in Toronto) and Patricia Urquiola (Spanish interior designer cult). Other important guests of the Forum in the previous years were: Karim Rashid, Henry Petroski and Charles Thornton (USA), Luisa Collina, Fabio Novembre, Massimo Morozzi and Francesco Morace (Italy), Jaime Lerner, Ruy Ohtake and José Carlos Sussekind (Brazil), Grag Sang (Dubai) and Henri Ciriani (France).
