Since China jumped as the largest stone producer, exporter and consumer in 2005, China stone industry has kept 8 years rapid growing, and shared nearly 20% of global stone processing and production capacity. Now China stone industry is becoming the focus of global market, and continuously pulling the development of global stone industry.

The latest data show that the national output of natural marble building slabs has reached 42.6188 million ㎡ from January to May in 2012, increasing 23.21% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the national output of natural granite building slabs has reached 153.3446 million ㎡, increasing 35.54% year-on-year.

As one of the global sunrise industries, the stone industry is developing rapidly recently. Since 1990, the global stones output and trade volume respectively grew by 7.3% and 9.2% at an annual rate, obviously higher than other industries.

The globalization promoted the stone industry development in China. As a part of global stone industry, China has gone beyond traditional stone powers of Italy and Spain since 2005, and has become the largest stone producer, exporter and consumer. Now, many purchasing companies from Italy, Turkey, and Brazil etc. are turning to China so that China stones will share more in the global market.

The experts believe that the global stone producing and trade center has turned to China from Europe.

Stone Industry Gets Unprecedentedly Hot

The data show that China stone industry's foreign trade was keeping high-speed increasing in recent years. As our two largest stone export bases, Guangdong Yunfu and Fujian Nan'an have occupied above 15% in the global stone trade volume. With the aggravation of the European debt crisis, the developed countries will rely on China more on the stone consuming.

The experts said that China stone products have counted for much in the global market. In Japan, South Korea, America, Germany and Netherland etc., most of their import stones rely on China. And China stones have shared a considerable proportion in many traditional stone consuming regions, such as France, U.K., Italy, Spain and the Middle East and the Southeast Asia.

It's know that at present, there are 400 million ㎡ of sales volume in our house costume market. Besides, the ceramic tiles as the substitute products still have 300 billion CHY of sales volume. Stone products still have a huge market.
