With a wide range and increasingly lush colors, ornamental rocks are still the favorite when it comes to architecture, construction and interior projects. On a detail decoration, either a wall or in the hall of a project, the materials dictate the trends in domestic and international market.

The concept will be the ornamental theme of a workshop to be held by the Brazilian Association of Interior Designers (ABD), parallel to the 2012 Cachoeiro Stone Fair, the sector of stone fair which begins on June 28 in Itapemirim. The speakers Jaqueline Frauches, the director of ABD-MG, and Rita Tern and the director of ABD-ES presented the trends, the application for the materials in possibilities and applicability of in architectural designs.

"There is a clear tendency for the material; the whites are always the popular trend. Another bet that the stones are translucent, as well as the effect that they have on lighting. I believe that all types of rocks have their space, from the most expensive to the cheapest, "said Jacqueline.

Since the diversity of colors and shapes, the architect also noted that the ornamental stones are more resistant than other materials, which puts them in a prominent project in construction and decoration.

"There is a very wide range of color options. And apart from being very resistant stones, they therefore provide several possibilities in architectural works. They may the key materials for decoration, "he emphasized.
