According to a data from Turkey Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association on March 14th, in 2012, the natural stone materials exported from Turkey to China reach 782 million USD, which records a new high.
Aslan Edincik, the president of the association, said the first two months of 2013, Turkey still kept high speed increasing of stone export to China. The export volume reached 110 million USD, increasing 51% year-on-year. He estimated that the stone export to China is expected to breakout 1 billion USD in 2013.
Recent year, with the depressed economic increasing in EU countries, the demand of Turkey stones were more and more decreasing. Now, China has been the largest stone export market for Turkey.
The Aegean Mineral Exporters’ Association expected that until 2013, the stone export from Turkey to China will reach 4 billion USD.
Turkey is one of the largest stone export countries in the world. The main exporting products are marble, limestone and onyx. At present, there are about 2000 marble quarries in Turkey, and about 300 kinds of stones. The Turkey marble output reached 5 billion USD in 2012, and the value of export is near to 2 billion USD.
