The total minable stone reserve in Shiqian County is beyond 300 million cubic meters, including Shiqian Red, Shiqian Peach Red, Shellstone and so on, 15 kinds of stones in total.

 

Last year, Sichuan Northwest Geological Team surveyed the stone resources in 10 key areas in Shiqian County, and found 23 resource sites in 18 villages and counties; the expected reserve is 300 million cubic meters. There are mainly 15 varieties including Shiqian Red, Shiqian Peach Red, Shellstone, Grey Wooden Marble, Beige Stone, etc. Determined by experts, it has features of more varieties, large density, high hardness, wear resistance, clear appearance, large storage, ultra low radioactive substances, etc. These materials have a wide uses in new-mode building materials and outdoor and indoor decoration, with high value to explore and broad market prospect. At present, there are 11 stone enterprises which have signed, built or started production through attracting investment, involving 13 resource sites, and the signing capital accounted for 1.562 billion Yuan. Now, stones processed in Shiqian County or off Shiqian have exported to nearly 10 countries including UK, USA, South Korea, etc.
