The first marble Gundam statue in the world was unveiled on July 30 at the "Tokyo Gundam Project 2013 Summer Festa" held between July 30 and Aug. 22 at Odaiba, Tokyo. The marble Gundam statue is called "REIMEI White Dawn" made of Italian marble, and it is a 1/12 scale model that is approximately 1.5 meters tall. It was produced by the Tokyo University of Arts over six months, and the statue is posed in the likeness of a warrior of Olympus preparing to participate in the Greek Olympics. The marble Gundam is next to the famous 1/1 size Gundam statue.
The purpose of the "Tokyo Gundam Project 2013 Summer Festa" is to promote sports in the Tokyo area and to support Tokyo’s bid to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The marble Gundam is one of the main attractions. It will be toured across Japan after Aug. 22.

The 1/1 scale life-size RX-78-2 Gundam Statue will collaborate with the Tokyo Sports Festival 2013 mascot ‘Yuri’ to promote this event together.
