Recently, municipal leaders of Macheng city organized a group to investigate the stone industry in Shuitou, Fujian. Meanwhile, they held a project investment & promotion conference, which more than 80 stone companies participated in. Macheng Stone Material Association signed an agreement with Shuitou Stone Material Association on the conference, and they came into being friendship associations. Municipal leaders of Macheng said that they welcome Shuitou companies investing in Macheng city to make Macheng to be the national even global stone center.

Cai Xu’an, the mayor of Macheng city, said Macheng stone industry has 4 advantages.

1. Natural advantage. Macheng reserves 5 billion cubic meters of granite, which can be quarried for more than one hundred years.

2. Strategic advantage. Macheng is the national help-the-poor development zone, Hubei province regional center city, the center city of Wuhan urban area.

3. Transportation advantage. Macheng have “3 high-way road and 3 train rail way”. Besides, it’s planning to start a dedicated rail way to Baiyashan. And, the rail way to Yangluo port is applying for.

4. Potential advantage. Macheng is the area developed late. It has a large potential to develop and has a wide market prospect.

The next step of Macheng stone industry is to take a great effort to speed up the construction of industry zone, and to make stone processing zone become tourist area. Meanwhile, Macheng will support to import slabs, to join peculiar material companies, to develop recycle of stone raw materials and circular economy, to improve stone supporting service and to research and develop flagship products.
