
Haicang port
Stone imports through Haicang port hit a new record high in the first half of 2013, making the port one of the country’s largest import-points for stone and stone products, according to Haicang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.
Data released has shown that the port has imported 1.773 million tons of stones in the last half year, with a total value of 336 million dollars, year-on-year increases of 10.08% and 18.59% respectively.
Based on statistics, Haicang port has imported 1.5278 million tons of marble, which was worth 262 million dollars, a growth of 15.28% and 17.48% year on year, along with 245,200 tons of granite worth 74 million dollars, a decrease of 22.39% and 14.09%.
According to reports, stones imports through Haicang Port were mainly from 32 countries around the world including America, Canada, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
