According to Xiamen Customs’ data, from Jan. to Nov. this year, stones imported from Xiamen Port reached 8.071 million tons, increasing 9.6% year-on-year, the value reached 1.64 billion USD, increasing 12.8%, which makes Xiamen be the largest port of stone import and export in China.

At present, there are thousands of stone import and export companies located in Xiamen, and about 6000 stone processing factories spread around Xiamen and surrounding areas. Moreover, the stone fair Xiamen International Stone Fair with the largest scale and the most exhibitors in the world is held in Xiamen every March. According to rough statistics, both stone import and export at Xiamen Port cover more than 60% in China every year.

Xu Rongqi, the chairman of Xiamen Stone Chamber, said that the reason why Xiamen can be the largest stone trade base and global stone distribution center in China is not only it has an advantage of South Fujian’s traditional stone processing and trade, but Xiamen has port handling capacity, the sea, land and the air transport network, and modernized service facilities.
